What We Believe

"Then the LORD said to me, You have seen well, for I am watching over My word to perform it."

Jeremiah 1:12 NASB

The following is a short preview of what we believe. . .

. . .if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved*
For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation*

Romans 10:9-10 NKJV

*saved sozo (sode'zo) NT:4982; "to save" is used (a) of material and temporal deliverance from danger, from sickness, "to be made whole" (b) of the spiritual and eternal salvation granted immediately by God to those who believe on the Lord Jesus Christ.

(from Vine's Bible Dictionary)

universally, one suffering from disease, to make well, heal, restore to health (from Thayer's Greek Lexicon)

*salvation soteria (so-tay-ree'-ah) NT:4991; deliverance, health, preservation

"but by mouth acknowledging is made to health" Romans 10:10b Wycliffe 1338 Translation

Saved and Salvation are all-inclusive words

The definition of all-inclusive is something where nothing is left out and where everything is considered or part of the package (yourdictionary.com)

What is our portion? It is to believe. God does the rest.

"And truly Jesus did many other signs in the presence of His disciples, which are not written in this book; but these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing you may have life in His name." John 20:30-31 NKJV

"And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will be well."

Mark 16:17-18 A Literal Translation

"And they went forth, and preached everywhere, the Lord working with and confirming the word with *signs following."

Mark 16:20 Wycliffe 1388 Translation

*signs seemeion (say-mi'-on): NT: 4592, an indication, especially supernaturally: miracle, sign, wonder

Miracles, signs and wonders follow the Word of God and the believer.

We are learning how to make ourselves available to the miraculous, supernatural power of the Lord Jesus Christ

"For this reason we also constantly thank God that when you received the word of God which you heard from us, you accepted it not as the word of men, but for what it really is. . . the word of God, which also *performs its work in you who believe."

1Thessalonians 2:13 NASU

*{exercising its superhuman power in those who adhere to and trust in and rely on it} Amplified Translation
